About POD Bodysurfing
No board. No shortcuts. Just the wave, your body, and the equipment that extends what you already do.
Handboards, Swim Fins and Fin Accessories. Your Body. Your Wave.
Where It Started
POD® began with bodysurfing. The handboard designs, the fin engineering, and the material research that defines the brand today all trace back to one question: how do you extend what the human body already does on a wave face without replacing it? That question has not changed since 1988. Nor does it have the standard it demands.
Handboards and Handplanes
POD® bodysurfing handboards are built to enhance natural body position and streamline movement through the wave. The WOW 13 in polyurethane delivers lightweight lift and directional hold with maintenance-free construction. The Hand Body Soul® cedar and walnut range covers three sizes, from the compact EGO 225mm through the all-round WOO 300mm to the maximum surface FLO 375mm. The Original Classic in polypropylene offers neutral buoyancy and the proven durability of the design released in 1993. Each model shares the same concave bottom, integrated keel fin, and ergonomic palm deck built around decades of hydrodynamic refinement in real surf conditions.
Swim Fins
Effective swim fins are critical in bodysurfing. POD® PF series fins deliver controlled propulsion, efficient kick cycles, and long-session comfort from natural Malaysian Floating Rubber. The PF1 suits developing riders and general bodysurfing use. The PF2 adds vertical rails and a sole ramp-up for improved wave hold. The PF3 Evolution is the world's first asymmetric bodysurfing fin, centring load more evenly across the foot to reduce ankle and knee strain in demanding conditions.
Fin Accessories
Three products address the most common fit problems with rubber swim fins in bodysurfing. POD 3mm Neoprene Fin Socks use stitch-free inner arch construction. POD Deluxe Fin Savers use 6mm webbing and 4mm neoprene padding to retain the fin at the ankle. POD Swim Fin Savers and Heel Protectors use a single registered ONE-strap connection for minimal drag and maximum retention in turbulent water.
Designed From the Water Up
Bodysurfing leaves no room for excess. There is no board to compensate, no shortcuts, and no margin for poorly considered design. Every element must earn its place. POD® focuses on how equipment actually behaves in moving water, across different bodies of water, and over the long term. Shapes, materials, and flex patterns are refined incrementally, tested repeatedly, and adjusted only when results are measurably better.
