Fit, materials, and choosing the right model.
How do I find the right swim fin size?
Use the POD Fit Finder on any fin product page. Shoe size does not reliably translate to fin size, so the Fit Finder uses your foot measurements to recommend the correct size and model.
What is the difference between the PF1, PF2, and PF3?
PF1, PF2, and PF3 are three distinct blade profiles, not a beginner-to-advanced hierarchy. The PF1 suits bodysurfing and swimming. The PF2 is built for bodyboarding and wave riding. The PF3 has an asymmetric blade for hollow, powerful surf.
Which handboard is right for me?
POD handboards are available in polyurethane, cedar and walnut timber, and polypropylene. The WOW 13 is the lightest at around 330 to 350 grams and suits riders who want performance without timber maintenance. The cedar and walnut range covers three sizes, from the compact EGO 225mm through the all-round WOO 300mm to the maximum-surface FLO 375mm. The Original Classic in polypropylene offers neutral buoyancy and proven durability.
How do I fit and adjust my handboard strap?
Set the hand strap to a snug fit over the back of your hand before your first session. The timber and polyurethane handboards feature a raised ergonomic palm section that sits naturally in the hand, supporting a relaxed position without strain. The Original Classic uses an EVA palm pad for the same purpose. For ongoing use on all models, slide your hand under the strap rather than pulling it back each time. This preserves the Velcro contact and extends the life of the strap system. Replacement strap sets are available separately if needed.
Can I leave my handboard in the car or in direct sun?
No. Heat damages timber, polyurethane, and polypropylene handboards. Do not leave any POD handboard in a hot car, in direct sunlight, or in an enclosed space that builds heat. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. A hemp drawstring cover is recommended for transport and storage.
Which AquaLuxe goggle lens is right for my conditions?
The clear lens suits indoor pools and low-light or overcast conditions. The black-tinted lens reduces light intensity for outdoor pools and moderate to bright conditions. The blue mirror lens suits open water, ocean swimming, and direct surface glare. The green mirror lens improves contrast across variable light and shifting weather. The gold mirror lens suits sustained bright sunlight with high glare. The silver mirror lens delivers maximum reflectivity for the brightest outdoor and ocean conditions. If you swim across multiple environments, the blue or silver mirror lens covers the broadest range of outdoor use.
Do all AquaLuxe lenses provide UV protection?
Yes. UV380 protection is confirmed across the full AquaLuxe lens range, including clear, tinted, and all four mirror variants. The protection comes from the lens material itself, not from the colour or coating. Every lens in the range blocks UV radiation to the UV380 standard, regardless of tint or mirror finish.
Are POD goggles suitable for open water swimming?
Yes. AquaLuxe goggles are built on a universal fit platform with UV380 protection across all six lens options. The full silicone body construction adapts to a broad range of face shapes for a consistent seal during pool and open-water use. Mirror lenses suit open water and ocean conditions. Clear lenses suit indoor pools and low light. Anti-fog coating is applied across all variants. Every pair includes a POD Dry Capsule ventilated protective case.
