The Most Structured Fin in the PF Series - Made for Bodysurfing and Bodyboarding
The PF2 is made from natural Malaysian rubber, with vertical rails that run out to the edge of a symmetric Chisel Blade®. That structure gives the fin a firm, direct response. On a wave, the rails grip the face and keep your legs from sliding down it.
Where the PF1 lets its rail flow into the blade, the PF2 carries vertical rails right to the edge, making it the firmest of the three. Where the PF3 uses an asymmetric blade and pocket, the PF2 keeps both symmetric, so the load spreads evenly across the fin. Riders and swimmers who want the same predictable response on every kick choose the PF2 for exactly that reason.
In collaboration with our rubber factory, POD was the first to introduce variegated colour straps and rails. The colours come from ocean life, and each pair carries its own pattern, so no two sets are the same.
How the PF2 Moves Water
Your kick does the pushing. Every surface of the PF2 is shaped to hold the water that the kick moves and send it to the edge of the Chisel Blade®, with each part working as one system.
-
Vertical rails: On top, the vertical rails hold a volume of water against the blade and direct it towards the blade edge on the thrust of each kick
-
Splay Rails®: Along each side, the Splay Rails push water outwards and back along the fin rather than letting it slip away off the sides
-
Deep channels: Under the fin, a deep channel runs beside each Splay Rail along the outer sole. On the back kick, the channels catch water like a cupped hand, then carry it out along the underside and away past the blade.
-
Tread Rails®: Running parallel to the channels along the underside and out to the blade edge, the Tread Rails® carry a raised edge on the inside of each rail in the sole pattern. They reinforce the sole and grip underfoot, like shoe tread.
-
Chisel Blade®: Water from the top and the underside meets at the blade edge and leaves the fin in a streamlined flow
-
Sand and water release: A drain opening at the end of the foot pocket flushes water and sand straight out, rather than trapping sand at the toe end the way holes under the sole do
Top and underside work together on the kick down and the kick back, and the flow holds while you tread water.
Foot Pocket to Blade Length - Finding the Balance
Every centimetre a blade reaches past the foot lengthens the lever, and with it the load through the foot and leg on each kick. Long, soft dive fins can carry that length. A surf fin needs a firmer blade, and the PF2 is the firmest of the three, so its blade length is proportioned within the foot pocket length.
That balance between the drive your kick gets from the blade and the load it sends back to you took years of testing to settle. It sits behind the comfort riders mention, alongside the soft natural rubber, and every other feature on the PF2 works within it.
Where the PF2 Works Well
-
Bodysurfing and bodyboarding: Vertical rails hold into the wave face, and the symmetric blade responds the same on either side, so the fin suits a wide range of riders and waves
-
Swimming and open water: A firm, even kick for training sets, ocean swims and long sessions where a steady rhythm matters
-
Kneeboarding: The board does the planing, and the PF2 extends the short bursts of kicking you need to get into the wave
-
Rescue, lifesaving and ocean photography: The fin holds its shape under repeated load, from flat water to heavy swell
PF2 and PF3 Blade Comparison
PF2 Size Comparisons
Blade width and length grow together across the sizes, so the fin keeps the same balanced response as it scales up.
POD PF2 Swim Fin Features
- Natural buoyant rubber compounds, manufactured in Malaysia
- Vertical rails run to the blade edge and hold into the wave face, so your legs stay up
- Sole ramp-up keeps your toes from shifting and stays comfortable under load
- Symmetric Chisel Blade® and symmetric foot pocket spread the load evenly across both sides of the fin
- Ergonomic soft rubber foot pocket and strap for a secure, comfortable fit
- Tread Rails® run parallel to the deep channels out to the blade edge, reinforcing the sole and gripping underfoot like shoe tread
- Splay Rails® push water outwards and along the fin, working with the symmetric Chisel Blade® to keep each kick tracking straight
- Deep channels beside the Splay Rails® catch water on the back kick and carry it out along the underside
- Drain opening at the end of the foot pocket flushes out water and sand
- Sic Cut® profile keeps the fin light while it holds its shape under load
- Variegated colour straps and rails inspired by ocean life, with every pair uniquely patterned
Shoe Size and Swim Fin Fit
Shoe size is not a reliable guide for swim fins. Rubber stretch, foot pocket shape and brand sizing all vary. The PF2's firmer response puts more load through your foot, so an accurate fit matters more.

Refining PF2 Fit for Comfort and Control
The right size is the first step. How the fin feels in the water depends on how securely and comfortably it fits once the surf picks up.
If you use your PF2 fins in surf, shore break or moving water, POD Deluxe Fin Straps keep them on through entry, exit and heavy water movement.
If the heel feels slightly loose or pressure builds during a long session, POD Swim Fin Savers and Heel Protectors settle the heel and stop the strap rubbing.
For feet at the lower end of the foot pocket range, POD 3mm Neoprene Fin Socks tighten the fit, stop your foot from moving inside the pocket, and add warmth in cooler water. The POD Fit Finder also shows when socks, heel pads or fin savers are worth adding, based on your foot dimensions and how you plan to use the fins.
Natural Rubber - What to Expect on Arrival
POD moulds every PF2 from natural Malaysian rubber. A light white powder or waxy residue on the surface is normal. This is not a defect, and you don't need to remove it before use.
Mould release agents from manufacturing and natural compounds in the rubber cause it, and you will find the same residue on other natural rubber products. It shows up more on darker rubber.
-
Note on colour: Shows more clearly on black rubber due to contrast
-
If it dries out: A wash in hot water dissolves a powdery surface if one develops over time
Rubber Memory
Natural rubber holds the shape it was moulded into. If a fin bends out of shape from storage or heat, hot water helps it relax back towards its original form.
Care and Use
POD natural rubber swim fins suit swimming, bodysurfing, bodyboarding, kneeboarding, lifesaving and ocean photography.
Walk backwards when wearing fins. It preserves the blade and extends the fins' lifespan.
