PF2 POD Swim Fins - Vertical Rail Control for Swimming, Bodysurfing and Bodyboarding
The PF2 is the most structured fin in the POD PF Series. It is a symmetrical swim fin made from natural Malaysian rubber, suited to swimming, open-water training, bodysurfing, bodyboarding, kneeboarding, lifesaving, and ocean photography.
Where the PF1 uses a streamlined rail that flows into the blade, the PF2 adds vertical rails that extend to the blade edge. That structure makes PF2 the stiffest fin in the series. The vertical rails improve wave hold, keep the legs from sliding down the wave face, and give the kick a firm, directed response through moving water.
The symmetric Chisel Blade® and symmetric foot pocket distribute load evenly across both sides of the fin. That balance makes the PF2 a genuine choice for experienced swimmers, bodysurfers, and bodyboarders who want a predictable, stable response without the asymmetric geometry of the PF3. Many riders prefer the PF2 over the PF3 for exactly that reason.
In collaboration with our rubber factory, POD was the first to introduce variegated colour straps and rails. Inspired by ocean life, each pair features unique colour variation - no two sets are the same.
Where the PF2 Works Well
- Swimming and open water: A structured, responsive fin for training, ocean swimming, and extended sessions where consistent kick mechanics matter
- Bodysurfing and bodyboarding: Vertical rails hold position on the wave face and keep movement directed in moving water, with a symmetric blade that suits a wide range of riders and conditions
- Kneeboarding: Controlled bursts of movement where the board provides primary lift and the fin keeps the drive consistent
- Rescue, lifesaving and ocean photography: Reliable performance under repeated load across varied conditions

PF2 Size Comparisons
Blade width and length increase together across sizes, keeping the response balanced and stable as the fin scales up.

POD PF2 Swim Fin Features
- Natural buoyant rubber compounds, manufactured in Malaysia
- Vertical rails extend to the blade edge, improving wave hold and preventing legs from sliding down the wave face
- Sole ramp-up reduces unnecessary toe movement and improves comfort under load
- Symmetric Chisel Blade® and symmetric foot pocket distribute load evenly across both sides of the fin
- Ergonomic soft rubber foot pocket and strap for a secure, comfortable fit
- Tread Rails® add structural strength and durability
- Splay Rails® combined with the symmetric Chisel Blade® for controlled, directed movement through the water
- Drainage channels allow rapid release of water and sand from the foot pocket
- Sic Cut® profile delivers a lightweight, robust structure under load
- Variegated colour straps and rails inspired by ocean life - each pair uniquely patterned
Shoe Size and Swim Fin Fit
Shoe size is not a reliable guide for swim fins. Rubber stretch, foot pocket shape, and brand sizing all vary. With the PF2, where the firmer response places more load through the foot, fit accuracy matters more.

PF2 Swim Fin Sizing
For the most accurate fit, use the POD Fit Finder or the measurements below to match your foot and ankle dimensions.
Step 1 - Foot Length and Width
- Small: 6-7 - Length 23 cm, Width 8.5 cm
- Small/Medium: 7-8 - Length 24 cm, Width 9 cm
- Medium: 8-9 - Length 25 cm, Width 9.5 cm
- Medium/Large: 9-10 - Length 26 cm, Width 10 cm
- Large: 10-11 - Length 27 cm, Width 10.5 cm
- Extra Large: 11-12 - Length 28 cm, Width 11 cm
- Measurements are maximum sizes before stretch.
- Natural rubber stretch allowance up to 5 mm
Step 2 - Ankle Strap Width
- Small: 8.2 cm
- Small/Medium: 8.7 cm
- Medium: 9.3 cm
- Medium/Large: 9.5 cm
- Large: 10 cm
- Extra Large: 10.5 cm
- Measurements are before stretch.
- Strap stretch allowance of 10-15 mm for a secure, non-slip fit
Refining PF2 Fit for Comfort and Control
Getting the right size is the first step. How the fin performs in the water depends on how securely and comfortably it fits once conditions increase.
If you are using your PF2 fins in surf, shore break, or moving water, POD Deluxe Fin Straps help keep fins secure through entry, exit, and heavy water movement.
If the heel area feels slightly loose or pressure builds during longer sessions, POD Swim Fin Savers and Heel Protectors improve retention and reduce friction at the heel.
For feet at the lower end of the foot pocket range, POD 3mm Neoprene Fin Socks refine fit, reduce internal movement, and add warmth in cooler water. The POD Fit Finder will also indicate when socks, heel pads, or fin savers are worth considering based on your foot dimensions and how you plan to use the fins.
Natural Rubber - What to Expect on Arrival
Every PF2 fin starts with premium natural Malaysian rubber. A light white powder or waxy residue on the surface is normal and is not a defect.
It comes from mould release agents used during production and from natural compounds within the rubber rising to the surface. It is more visible on darker rubber.
- Note on colour: Residue shows more clearly on black rubber due to contrast
- To remove: Wash with warm to hot water before first use
Care and Use
POD natural rubber swim fins suit swimming, bodysurfing, bodyboarding, kneeboarding, lifesaving, and ocean photography.
Walk backwards when wearing fins. It preserves the blade and extends the fins' lifespan.

These things are super comfortable. They are also very durable. I have a pair that I've used for quite a few years and they are still going strong. Highly recommend.

Must haves
I've had a pair of PF1's for 10+ years and absolutely loved them. Unfortunately last season the rubber in the heal finally started to crack, which is reasonable for their age, so I've had to part ways and grab the upgraded PF2's. Big props to Shane who's customer service was top notch. Will definitely be back in the future.
