POD 5ft Surfboard Leash - Shortboard and Fast Hollow Waves
The POD 5ft Surfboard Leash is the shortest leash in the POD Connection range. Shortboard surfers choose 5ft deliberately to keep drag low, recovery fast, and the cord out of the way through tight sections and hollow waves.
Total length is 5ft 9" including hardware. At PODWARE, the stated length is cord length alone, not cord plus cuff and swivel. That distinction matters when the leash is under load.
POD Connection - Organic Fusion, No Twist
Most leashes fail at the connector. Standard designs use perpendicular slots or angled grooves that force the urethane into a rotational twist under load, causing tangles and premature failure at the join point.
The POD Connection uses an organic over-moulded design. The connector is fused directly onto the 7mm extruded urethane cord, allowing both to stretch together on a straight line. No angled slots, no rotational force, no twist. The assembly stretches up to six times its original length and returns to form without kinking.

Leg rope
As soon as I opened up the leg rope I could tell it was well made. I have used it in 3-4 foot surf and had no issue. The fit of the cuff around my ankle feels very comfortable and secure. I like how the rail saver is nice and wide. The connection point of the cord collar is noticeably different from others brands. The collar is as flexible as the cord. Where as on other leg rope brands, So far all good . A+
