PF1 POD Swim Fins - Balanced Swimming Fins for Learning, Training and Ocean Use

The PF1 POD Swim Fins are designed first and foremost as a balanced swimming fin for learning, training, and fitness in both pool and open-water environments. Their lightweight construction, forgiving flex, and symmetrical blade design make them ideal for developing efficient kick technique, building endurance, and maintaining long-session comfort.

Because of this balanced design, the PF1s also transition naturally into bodysurfing, bodyboarding, and knee boarding, where controlled propulsion and stability matter more than aggressive thrust.

The PF1 is the lightest model in the PF Series range, reducing rotational load on the ankles, knees, and hips. This makes it especially suitable for beginners, youth, fitness swimmers, and riders who value comfort and joint preservation during extended sessions.

Manufactured at our Malaysian natural rubber fin factory, POD is the first to develop variegated-colour straps and rails, producing unique colour patterns inspired by ocean life. No two pairs are identical.

PF1 Swim Fin Features

  • Manufactured from premium natural buoyant rubber compounds in Malaysia
  • Lightest fin design within the PF Series range
  • Symmetric blade for balanced thrust and reduced joint load
  • Extended foot pocket for comfort and versatile fitting
  • Unique Splay Rails® combined with a symmetric blade for stable propulsion and control
  • Drainage design allows quick release of water and sand from the foot pocket.
  • Variegated colour straps and rails inspired by ocean life, with each pair uniquely patterned

Use Case Clarity - Where PF1 Excels

  • Swimming and Fitness: Ideal for pool training, open-water swimming, and technique development
  • Bodysurfing and Bodyboarding: Entry-level propulsion with balance and forgiveness before progressing to PF2 or PF3
  • Knee Boarding: Provides quick, controlled propulsion where short bursts of speed are required, and the board supplies primary lift

The Mark of Quality - Natural Rubber Manufacturing

Because POD® fins are crafted from premium natural Malaysian rubber, they may arrive with a light white powder or waxy residue. This is a natural mould release agent used during the handcrafted manufacturing process.

Note on Colour: This residue is naturally more visible on black rubber fins due to contrast and is a sign of unused, factory-fresh rubber.

To remove: Wash with hot water before first use to reveal the natural rubber finish.

PF1 Swim Fin Sizing

Swim Fin Sizing Versus Shoe Size

Shoe size is not a reliable guide for swim fins. Fin fit depends on foot length, width, and stretch characteristics rather than adjustable lacing systems.

Please use the measurements above or the POD Fit Finder to eliminate guesswork and select the correct PF1 size for comfort first, then for control and efficiency.

Care and Use Advice

POD natural rubber swim fins are designed for swimming, bodysurfing, bodyboarding, kneeboarding, and ocean photography. They are not designed for forward walking or running.

We recommend a common-sense approach, such as walking backwards when wearing fins, to preserve structure and extend product life.

POD Fins are precisely engineered for use within the stated and engraved size range. Using a size below the specified size (by more than one size) alters the intended foot-to-blade ratio and may result in an improper fit or performance. Fitting fins to feet larger than the stated size may cause overstretching or overloading, which can compromise the structural integrity of the fin. Such misuse voids all warranty coverage. POD rubber fins are designed exclusively for swimming purposes and are not intended for walking or running, as they are not footwear. Bending or flexing the blade beyond approximately 35° in any direction may cause tearing or cracking of the blade or sole. Damage resulting from such actions is not covered under warranty. To minimise the risk of damage when moving in shallow water, swim fins should be used only for swimming. Avoid forward walking or running while wearing fins. If movement on land or in shallow areas is necessary, walking or stepping backwards will help prevent undue stress to the blade and foot cavity.

    Awesome flippers for girls

Posted by Zoe on 16th Aug 2011

Being a barefoot chic with wide feet it's hard to find flippers that fit, but these are awesome. They fit really well and the soft rubber on the inside makes them easy to wear for hours. The pink and yellow colour is really cool as well. I just love these flippers!
