Body Surfing Gear Longevity: Care and Precautions
Proper care is key to unlocking the long-term performance of your POD gear. Protect your investment for years of wave riding:
- Rinse Thoroughly: After every session, rinse your handboard, fins, and all accessories (socks, savers) in fresh water to remove corrosive salt and sand.
- Avoid Excessive Heat: Never leave your WOW board or fins in the sun or inside a car on hot days. Excessive heat is the number one cause of material damage.
- Shade Dry Only: Allow all items to air-dry naturally in a cool, shaded, ventilated area. Prolonged direct UV exposure can degrade rubber and polyurethane.
- Store in a Cool Place: When not in use, store your handboard flat and your fins upright in a cool, dry environment.
