Care Instructions
Remember, the POD Tritek Swim Goggles lenses are made of PC (polycarbonate), a durable material that can easily scratch if not handled with care. To keep them in top condition, avoid rubbing the lenses with your fingers or after use in saltwater.
Wash goggles in fresh water and let dry in the shade after every use.
- Do not leave in the sun.
- Do not leave your swimming goggles in the car or boot on hot summer days; excessive heat may cause damage.
To remove any chlorine, salt, or oil buildup on your goggle lenses, it is best to use lukewarm water with a few drops of mild dishwashing detergent. Gently agitate the goggles in the solution, then rinse them in fresh water and hang them out to dry in the sun.
Selecting the Correct Swim Goggles
The Suction Test is a simple yet effective way to check if the goggles fit your child's face. Place the goggles against their eye sockets without the headband, and gently push the middle front section of the lens with your thumbs. If the goggles create a momentary suction, they should provide a secure seal without being too tight or uncomfortable.
Be aware that not every model will fit every facial structure. If the incorrect model goggles are selected? Then, there is a greater chance that the goggles will become uncomfortable and leak when swimming.
Adjusting Your Goggles
Depending on the model, POD Swim goggles come with various nose pieces.
- The Tritek one-piece design and flexibility allow the nose-piece area to stretch slightly.
Headband Adjustment
A good headband is designed to keep the goggles in place while swimming and is adjustable to a comfortable length. It's important to note that a tight fit is not necessarily the right fit. Over-tightening the headband can cause discomfort and headaches and even affect the seal of the goggles, leading to leaks. If you find yourself needing to over-tighten the headband, it may indicate that the goggles are not suitable for your child's facial structure.
The tighter you wear a headband, the more chance you will snap the headband strap. Again, familiarising yourself with the style of headband associated with the selected swim goggles will ensure that any adjustments are easily achieved.
Care and Precautions
As with anything worn close to the eyes, care should be taken to prevent eye injuries, especially when using goggles by children who may be distracted by their surroundings while wearing them. We strongly recommend that children always be supervised when swimming and wearing goggles, ensuring their safety at all times. This responsible approach will ensure your child's safety and enjoyment of their swimming experience.
Swim goggles may cause skin irritation for some users and should not be worn by people with known susceptibility to dermatitis. Consequently, discontinue use immediately if any irritation or inflammation occurs.
