The PF3 Ocean Active swim fins use the same asymmetrical design as the PF3 Evolution, expressed through a limited colour range. Designed for bodysurfing, bodyboarding, and ocean use, they provide precise control, directional stability, and consistent movement in demanding water conditions.

The asymmetrical blade and ergonomic foot pocket work together to respond to load across the foot and ankle. This reduces unwanted torsional movement and allows the fin to respond in a controlled, predictable way under sustained pressure.

The asymmetrical foot pocket also changes how the rubber stretches and conforms to the foot. Unlike a symmetrical pocket, which evenly distributes stretch, the PF3's shape follows the foot's natural contours. As a result, the fit can feel different from that of PF1 or PF2 models, even when the size is correct.

In some cases, this can create a slightly looser feel due to reduced stretch across certain areas of the pocket. This is not a sizing issue, but a result of the asymmetrical design. Where a tighter fit is preferred, POD 3mm neoprene fin socks can be used to refine the fit and maintain a secure connection between the foot and fin.

Combined with Splay Rails® and vertical rails, the PF3 maintains direction and stability in moving water, helping the user hold position and line without unnecessary movement.

POD PF3 Swim Fin Sizes

For the most accurate fit, use the measurements below or the POD Fit Finder to match your foot and ankle dimensions.

Step 1 - Foot Length and Width

• Small/Medium: 7–8 = Length 24 cm, Width 9 cm
• Medium: 8–9 = Length 25 cm, Width 9.5 cm
• Medium/Large: 9–10 = Length 26 cm, Width 10 cm
• Large: 10–11 = Length 27 cm, Width 10.5 cm
• Measurements are maximum sizes before stretch.
• Allow up to 5 mm stretch for a firm fit.

Step 2 - Ankle Width for Strap Fit

• Small/Medium: 7–8 = Width 9.5 cm
• Medium: 8–9 = Width 10 cm
• Medium/Large: 9–10 = Width 10.5 cm
• Large: 10–11 = Width 11 cm
• Measurements are before stretch.
• Strap stretch allowance is 10–15 mm.

Fit Guidance and Care

If your foot matches the width shown on the size chart but is slightly longer, the extended foot pocket can still provide a secure and comfortable fit without toe irritation.

PF3 swim fins are not designed to accommodate foot lengths more than 1 cm beyond the stated measurements. Overstretching or overloading the rubber alters the foot-to-blade ratio and may compromise structural integrity, voiding warranty coverage.

Maintaining PF3 Control in Active Water

The PF3 Ocean Active is built for experienced riders operating in surf, current, and sustained movement. In these conditions, maintaining a consistent fin connection becomes critical. POD Deluxe Fin Straps help secure the fin during entries, exits, and turbulent water where displacement can occur.

With higher load conditions and longer sessions, pressure through the heel and strap can increase. POD Swim Fin Savers and Heel Protectors help stabilise the heel interface, reducing friction while maintaining a firm connection between foot, strap, and fin.

Where precise control is affected by slight internal movement, POD 3mm Neoprene Fin Socks can refine fit, improve internal hold, and provide additional protection in cooler conditions. The POD Fit Finder will also indicate when socks, heel support, or fin savers may improve overall control and fit based on your measurements and usage.

Practical Use

Rubber swim fins are not intended for forward walking or running. To preserve fin structure and longevity, we recommend walking or running backwards when wearing fins.
