The POD 25L Waterproof Backpack and WOW 13" Handboard cover two different parts of the bodysurfing day. The backpack carries the WOW, with room for a towel or your fins, from the car to the beach and home again, sealed against water and sand. In the water, the WOW builds on the lift from your hand and holds your line across the face. At 330 to 350 grams, it's the lightest handboard for its size in the POD range.

A bodysurfing morning usually starts with a walk. There's the track down to the beach, and the long carry back up afterwards, with your gear on your shoulders the whole way. The POD 25L makes that carry easy. Padded shoulder straps and a padded back panel both let air through; the adjustable chest strap keeps the load from swinging, and two D-rings give you somewhere to clip your fins.

Everything else rides inside the 25-litre main compartment. Heavy-duty 500D PVC tarpaulin forms the body, with every seam heat-welded electronically instead of stitched. Roll the top forward three times and the bag seals airtight and watertight. Then fasten it with the top buckle when you'll be back in shortly, or pull the side compression straps down for the walk home. Close it properly, and it floats.

Your phone and keys go in the front pocket, behind an IPX6-rated zipper that keeps out heavy spray. The zip is made to fit the pocket exactly, with moulded ends sealing both tips. A carry handle on top lets you grab it off the sand in one move.

POD WOW 13" Bodysurfing Handboard

The WOW 13" starts with your hand. Its convex deck rises into your palm and holds it in a natural position, keeping your hand and wrist relaxed through a long session. Below the deck, the board is 330mm of polyurethane, light enough to slip into your bag without adding bulk and tough enough to handle years of use, with a slight flex that springs back. On the underside, an 18mm concave and mono-keel fin carry water along the base, extending the lift your hand makes and keeping you tracking across the face.
