Everything in One Bag - WOW 13" and the 40L Waterproof Backpack

The POD Waterproof Backpack 40L and WOW 13" Handboard pair the largest bag in the POD waterproof range with the lightest handboard for its size that POD makes. The 40L takes your wetsuit, fins, towel, rash guard, and the WOW itself, sealed against water and sand from home to the beach and back. In the water, the WOW builds on the lift from your hand and holds your line through the wave, and at 330 to 350 grams it adds almost nothing to your load. The 40L measures 56cm, so if you're flying, check it against your airline's carry-on limits.

POD Waterproof Backpack 40L

The 40L is the one to pack when you're going further than the local break. It's the largest bag in the POD waterproof range, cut from heavy-duty 500D PVC tarpaulin with every seam heat-welded electronically, so no stitching lets water through.

To close it, roll the top forward three times for an airtight, watertight seal. Clip the top buckle if you'll be back in the bag soon, or run the side compression straps down to cinch the load for a long carry. Sealed properly, the bag floats.

Two front pockets keep the small things sorted, each closed with an IPX6-rated zipper that keeps out heavy spray. Both zips are made to length with moulded, sealed ends, not cut from a continuous roll. The upper pocket, 26cm x 20cm, holds your phone, wallet, passport and keys. The lower one, 26cm x 24cm, takes accessories and smaller gear.

The bag carries its weight close to your back, making it easier to wear on long walks or travel days. Dual-layer shoulder straps and the back panel both let air through, and an adjustable chest strap keeps the load steady. A moulded handle and two D-rings round out the carry options.

The 40L dimensions were developed with carry-on compatibility in mind. At 56cm height, 33cm width, and 17.5cm depth after rolling, the bag fits within or close to most airline carry-on limits.

POD WOW 13" Bodysurfing Handboard

On a surf trip, the WOW 13" is the handboard you won't have to think about. At 330 to 350 grams, it's the lightest board for its size in the POD range, and polyurethane stands up to baggage handling and rough reef entries without cracking. There's no timber to reseal or dry out between waves, so it's the easiest board in the range to travel with.

The 330mm body has a gentle flex that springs back under load. Its 18mm concave base and mono-keel fin channel water along the underside, adding to the lift from your hand and holding your direction on the face. On top, the convex deck sits naturally in your palm and keeps your hand relaxed through long sessions, wherever you end up surfing.
