One Board for Any Break - 40L Backpack and WOO Handboard

The POD Waterproof Backpack 40L and WOO Cedar Walnut Handboard pair the largest bag in the POD waterproof range with the board riders choose most from the Hand Body Soul® range. At 300mm, the WOO sits between the compact EGO and the larger FLO, and it handles a wide range of waves and riders. That makes it the one to take when you don't know what the surf will bring. The 40L packs the WOO in with your wetsuit, fins, towel and rash guard, all sealed against water and sand for the trip.

Passport, phone, wallet and keys go in the upper front pocket (26cm x 20cm), where you can reach them without opening the main bag. Accessories and smaller gear fit in the lower pocket (26cm x 24cm). Both close with IPX6-rated zippers that shut out heavy spray. Each one is made to length, its ends moulded and sealed so no cut edge is left exposed.

Behind them sits a 40-litre main compartment, enough for the WOO, a wetsuit, fins and everything else a day in the ocean needs. Heavy-duty 500D PVC tarpaulin wraps the load, and the seams are heat-welded electronically throughout. Roll the top forward three times to seal it airtight and watertight. Clip the top buckle when you're back between sessions, or cinch the side compression straps for a longer carry. Seal it properly, and the bag floats.

The load sits balanced and close to your back, which keeps a long carry comfortable. Air moves through the dual-layer shoulder straps and the back panel; the chest strap adjusts to hold the pack steady, and a moulded handle and two D-rings give you extra ways to carry and clip on gear.

WOO Cedar Walnut Handboard - Hand Body Soul®

At 300mm (12 inches), the WOO is the mid-size board in the Hand Body Soul® range. It carries enough surface to add real lift in bigger surf and stays manageable when the waves are small. The cedar and walnut board has an 18mm concave underneath that channels water across its full length, building on the lift your hand already makes. A keel fin shaped into the base holds your line through the wave. On top, the convex deck sits naturally in your palm. Travelling somewhere new, with no idea what the swell will do, this is the board to pack.

Care - Backpack and Handboard

• Rinse after every surf. Run fresh water over the handboard and the outside of the backpack.
• Keep the seal clean. Brush any sand off the roll-top before you close it to keep the seal watertight.
• Dry in the shade. Let the handboard dry fully, and open the backpack so it dries inside and out before you store it.
• Keep them out of the heat. A car on a hot day can damage both, so don't leave either one inside.
• Recoat the timber when it needs it. At the first sign of wear, or if water starts getting into the wood, apply a marine-grade satin finish.
