POD Rapid-Dry Rash Guard - 190gsm Compression Rashie with UPF50+
The POD Rapid-Dry Rash Guard is a 190gsm compression rashie with UPF50+ sun protection, rapid-dry moisture-wicking fabric, and 360° four-way stretch. Backed by over 35 years of water sports product development, it suits surfing, bodyboarding, bodysurfing, swimming, paddleboarding, and kneeboarding.
The 190gsm fabric weight sits between a standard thin rash vest and a heavier neoprene layer. It dries quickly, holds its shape with regular use, and does not sag or absorb water like lighter fabrics do.
Features
- UPF 50+ sun protection: Shields skin from UVA and UVB rays during extended time in and around the water
- Rapid-dry moisture-wicking fabric: The 190gsm construction pulls moisture away from the skin and dries quickly, reducing the waterlogged feel between sets
- Breathable construction: Allows airflow and helps reduce overheating through longer sessions
- Compression fit: Provides a supportive hold, helps reduce fatigue, and keeps movement efficient without restrictive tightness
- 360° four-way stretch: The 190gsm fabric moves with the body without sagging or losing shape
- Antibacterial and odour control: Built-in sweat management keeps the rashie fresh through training and travel
- Polyester-spandex blend: Resists fading in saltwater and pool use, maintains stretch and fit over time
- Board short anchor loop: Keeps the rash guard in position during active movement
- POD Blue with tone-on-tone print: Understated colour and finish without excess branding

FAQ - POD Rapid-Dry Rash Guard
What is the difference between a rash guard, rash vest, and rashie?
They are all different names for the same product. In Australia, "rashie" and "rash vest" are commonly used, while internationally you will often see "rash guard" or "rash shirt." The POD version uses 190gsm performance fabric for comfort, durability, and protection.
Will this rash guard keep me warm?
It is not a thermal wetsuit layer, but the 190gsm fabric dries quickly and helps reduce wind chill between sets, on the ski, or on the beach. It will feel warmer than a thin rash vest in those conditions.
Is this rashie chlorine and saltwater resistant?
Yes. The polyester-spandex blend stands up to pool use and ocean conditions. While no fabric is immune to concentrated chlorine, this blend resists fading and maintains stretch longer than many standard rash vests.
Does the compression fit feel restrictive?
No. The 360° four-way stretch supports the body and moves naturally with it. It is performance support rather than restriction.
Is this rash guard unisex?
Yes. POD rash guards suit surfers, swimmers, and water sports enthusiasts across all disciplines. Choosing the right size is the key - use the size guide above.
Can I wear this rashie out of the water?
Yes. With odour control and sweat management, it is comfortable on the beach, between sessions, and during training.

Sizing chart failure
Hi team Pod, Sorry to provide this review, but as a long time open water swimmer who swims in swim rashies daily I found your sizing chart to over size the garment. My sizing fell perfectly into the xtra-large recommendation however on receiving your garment it is at least a size to large and likely 2 sizes. It provides absolutely no compression in any area. I hope you can review your sizing. Best regards Scott Cunningham
